Message from Fr. Bill:

Thank you, Almighty God, my Father, for fifty years as; your priest – it has been fifty years filled with surprises.

Often – people ask me – what is it like – 50 years as a priest – the only word is surprise.

And today I want to thank God for all of the surprises – I have been able to deal with all of the surprises because God has always been there to support and guide me.

I was surprised when I was asked to study for the Diocese of Ogdensburg – back in high school I wasn’t certain whether anyone lived north of Syracuse.

The next surprise – I was asked to be a high school teacher of science –

Then – another surprise – I became a pastor – St. Andrew’s, Sackets Harbor – Our Lady of the Lake, Cumberland Head – St. Patrick’s, Chateaugay – St. Peter’s, Lowville.

The next surprise – Blessed Pope John XXiii Newman Center – at Plattsburgh State – and all of those college students

Then – another surprise – South America – our Parish of San Martin de Porres, Mollendo, Peru

A further surprise – back home – to St. Mary’s, Ticonderoga – Sacred Heart, Crown Point

The next surprise – I can’t wait to see ----
